What makes a great leader? Is it about the clear vision that this person should posses? Is it about having integrity, being honest and having a clear focus? We believe those are just the basics. A good leader supports people in reaching their goals, while a great leader is not afraid to hire people that might be better than them and helps them to achieve even more. We are looking for such a great leader who is a strong mentor at the same time. The leader we are looking for should also be able to build and forge a team of individuals with a diverse background into a successful squad that creates new apps for 4 million customers.
You'll be responsible for building a team of mobile developers for iOS and Android almost from scratch, creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture, setting clear team goals, delegating tasks and setting deadlines for your internal team. You'll also be in charge of discovering training needs and providing coaching, motivating team members, listening to their feedback, and resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise. You'll be expected to recognize high performance and reward accomplishments, encourage creativity and risk-taking, and suggest and conceptualize team building activities. Finally, you'll manage relations between DKB project managers, product owners and software developers, and support business analysts and project managers by evaluating development tasks.
You should have at least 7 years of experience, of which a few are in a lead capacity. You need to have have excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and time management skills, and extensive experience in development for Android, with Swift, the iOS-framework and Apple's design principles and interface guidelines. More than that, you should be passionate about developing great products and self learning. You should know a lot about connecting RESTful APIs to backend systems. Furthermore, Agile, Scrum and Sprint are not just words for you - they are a way of working that you are acquainted with. And you should know the difference between working in a fast-paced environment compared to a corporate startup. Finally, you must speak German on a professional level.
