Inspired by the Malay word for “help”, bantu was created to tackle the issue of volunteer attrition in non-profit organisations. Many non-profits experience a 70-80% volunteer turnover during each project cycle, and this creates enormous admin and social implications. Not only does this drain away their time and resources for the purpose of re-recruiting and retraining volunteers, it hurts beneficiaries who do not receive consistency of care and attention from volunteers. As a web-based platform, bantu can help you easily manage, communicate, and engage volunteers. You can spend fewer resources and time on menial tasks, and instead focus on developing meaningful programmes and relationships with your volunteers. To date, we have worked with over 20 organisations during our beta-staging, with more than 1,000 volunteers being managed on our system to date. Our partners include Ground Up Initiative, AMKFSC, and People’s Association. The platform has been officially launched in early 20th April 2018. We believe a great community is always the fruition of long-term, cumulative efforts from its members. Join us as we help bring great communities and great volunteers together! Assisted my professor in evaluating and teaching MeteorJS, AngularJS, business model, and full stack development to about 15 exchange students from various top universities in China during a summer programme.
First attempt to teach together with Tyson Quek on MeteorJS for both frontend and backend to over 60+ NUS students for Orbital 2017. The lesson is a sprinting 3hrs two session that covers developing a simple feedback app in MeteorJS framework and mongoDB.
As part of the NUS NOC programme, I am a full stack developer intern in DreamAlliance Entertainment Inc. DreamAlliance is an investment firm that aims to connect film makers from the U.S and film investors from China via a centralized platform. The company works closely with several film directors that are involved in Canne Festival, Hollywood, superstars, independent and local films. I was involved in building the digital platform using technologies such as Python, Django, Crontab, MongoDB, PHP, AWS, GitHub, and R programming.
